a Whisper…stand firm

“As my child, you are blessed to live a victorious life because of Jesus, my Son, and because you have received my Holy Spirit who is powerful and at work in you. There is nothing that you cannot conquer in this life with the ever-present help of my Spirit.

The enemy will try to get to you. He is deceptive, divisive, and will endeavor to trip you up. However, you have power over him and he cannot harm you because he cannot be where I am. He cowers before me because he knows that I am greater in you than he is in the world around you. Be aware of his wiles, but do not fear. Cast him away in the name of Jesus. He must flee at the mention of my name! He will only torment you if you allow it. Be wise, stand firm, and exercise the power of my Spirit over him.

I am your Father and I love you deeply. I created you for relationship and fellowship with me. Come to me, spend time in my presence every day. Listen for the encouragement of my voice as I speak to you. Allow your heart and mind to be open to what I want to say. As you hear, then follow.

When you feel like I am being silent, do not give up. Trust that in silence I am working things out for you. Things that happen in the realm of my Spirit happen on a timetable that is different from your own.

Abide in me, remain strong in me, and trust in my loving care for you. These are the times to stand firm. You must resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Perseverance will have its reward because I will see you through to victory.”

a Whisper…abiding in me

My Spirit is alive in you. It is good to recognize that nothing in your life has happened apart from me. There has been a purpose in everything I have allowed or called you to. When you embrace me and my purposes for you, I in turn work through you and you may trust that everything is going to be accomplished in my perfect time.

Abiding in me doesn’t mean everything will always be clear or easy. When you abide in me, it is your confidence in me that enables my work to continue in your life. Endeavor to be still and remember that I am God who faithfully loves you, especially when it seems like I am slow to move or to act in bringing these things to fruition.

Accept that I am in control and that everything is going to be okay. Rest in me because you can. Receive my joy and live in it while you are waiting. I desire to give you my peace. Position yourself to be in a mental and emotional place to receive it.

When you are truly abiding in me, your behavior displays trust, faith, and peace. As these characteristics grow in you, you have the ability to be continually joyful, which allows you to live above your circumstances and be content where I have you.

I know the plans that I have for you. You have been called according to my purposes so continue to live in complete trust. Allow my peace to flow like a river over you. Let your faith shine forth like the noonday sun; and may the joy of your salvation light your way so you find yourself abiding in me as my plans are accomplished in you.”

“When your heart is troubled, come to me and I will be your help. My Spirit provides you with comfort, peace, and truth. Allow me to fill the reservoir of your heart with more grace so you will be empowered to respond appropriately in every situation.

You are experienced at rationalizing your actions and the actions of others, but that does not mean you always come to the right conclusions. The truth you need is only found in me, so come to me and bring your concerns with you. Be willing to turn them over to me. Truly, I am the only one able to show you the way, reveal truth, and see you through.

Though you desire my help, and you intentionally give your concerns to me, it may still be hard for you to know what to do. In these times, simply be still and know that I am God. Time is the key ingredient to receiving your answers and you must be patient in the process. However, when you have truly given these things to me, you should find that your concerns are replaced by my peace. It will be well with your soul until the answers come.”

“Recognizing and accepting my purposes for you in circumstances that are not always ideal, allows my Spirit to continue to work in your life. Even when you may not be content in those circumstances, you may remain content in me and trust me through them.

My power is unleashed in you when you are willing to yield your will to mine. This is one of the hardest things I will ask of you, but I will also be with you every step of the way and my Holy Spirit will provide you with all that you need so you can do what I have called you to do.

There is joy in obedience and being willing to endure some discomfort in your circumstances because I am teaching you and making you stronger through them. Not only that, but you do not fully comprehend how what I am doing in you is ministering to someone else.

You have a singular focus in your approach to your circumstances, but I am multi-dimensional, and my purposes and plans are broader than what you are often able to see. They will cover more ground and work in ways that help others to see me as you do. You must trust me in this; my plans are always for your good and for my glory.

Continue to delight in me for I am working in and through you to make a difference in the lives of others. You have been called by me, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. You are mine, you are blessed, and the world around you needs the love I have given to you. Be my light, reflect my love, and you will see my power unleashed in you and in your world.”

“My mercies never end. They are new every morning and you may receive them as you tap into me, as you wait upon me. I have put my love into your heart to bless you, to warm you from the inside out so that you are able to share it with others who need me. You are my child and I have you in the palm of my hands, therefore you do not have to worry about yourself. I will always take care of you.

Open your eyes to see the world around you and the needs of others. Be ready to respond to the leading of my Spirit in caring for them. As you follow my lead, you will find yourself naturally responding to me and how you act, what you say and do, will come as easily as breathing. You may not even realize that you are ministering to others in those moments.

Allowing me to lead you outside of your comfort zone is much easier than you believe it is. Don’t allow your flesh to keep you from my blessing. As you abide in me the way is easy because as the scripture says, “My yoke is easy, my burden is light.” Consider your Source and where your strength comes from. As you flow with me, I will flow through you.”

“When you open your spiritual eyes, you will see things that others cannot see, but you could also see things that others may not understand. Some treasures are just for you, they aren’t easily explained.

As you walk your faith journey with me, trust me to reveal to you everything that has been specifically designed for you. Continue to draw near to me and let my word penetrate your heart. Express your thoughts to me and I will lead you; my truth will be your guide.

Stay humble and don’t veer from the path that I have you on. Remember that this is our journey together. My journey with another may look very different if you were to see it, so be wary of making comparisons.

Keep your eyes firmly fixed upon me and you will experience all the blessings, joys, and treasures I have yet for you to discover.”

a Whisper…true intimacy

“I delight when you come before me in prayer, when you come to me hungry for what I want to show you.  What I have for you will always bring health to your bones, and healing to your heart.

My love for you is intentional. It has the power to transform your spirit and to lead you in the path of righteousness so that you will live the life I have called you to live. True intimacy with me leads you to wisdom and truth. It empowers you to deal with all that this life throws at you.  It protects and makes you strong. It teaches, and it delivers you from sin.

Intimacy with me removes walls and barriers in your heart, making a way for my presence to produce fruit in your life. My Spirit is your peace and I will satisfy your deepest longings for love and relationship.

As you open yourself up to more of me, I will come and fellowship with you. You will hear my voice and follow me. I do not force myself upon anyone. I come to each as you open yourself up and are willing to receive me. I do promise my eternal blessings will be yours when you choose Jesus, my Son, and when you invite Him into your life.

I promise you freedom, freedom from all that has bound you up; all that has kept you apart from me. Let me deliver you into the light of my love so that my blessings and promises will be yours to hold forever.”

a Whisper…a little perspective

“Perspective is what is needed when you struggle in relationships that are important to you. I am the one who can help you with that.

Your perspective is skewed because you don’t always know what the other person’s thoughts or struggles may be. You tend to assume much and many of your assumptions are wrong because they are based upon feelings rather than facts.

When your feelings get hurt by others, you often jump quickly to the wrong assumptions and this is what skews your perspective. You see through a dark glass and that is not enough to be truly discerning. Instead of jumping to conclusions of your own making, make the effort to bring your thoughts to me and ask me to help you to have discerning eyes. Ask me to provide you wisdom so that you will see more clearly. You may not be completely off the mark, but I am the only one who knows for sure.

You would be wise to trust in me and to allow me to work in your heart; and to speak to you about these things before you go off and create a situation that does not exist.  Haste can be a waste of time and effort. It can also be a setback to hinder the answers to your prayers.

Come to me, come to this safe place where we meet in prayer and in my Word. I will speak to your heart and show you the way to go and how to gain the right perspective in your relationships.”

  • “The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2: 10b – 11
  • “My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble.” Proverbs 3: 21-23

“I know that sometimes it can be very hard to come to me, to humble yourself before me and to lay your cares at my feet. It can be particularly hard when you are struggling with others. But I will honor you as you do so, and I will lift you up in due course.

As you persevere through the relational trials you face, I will be near you and I will help you to have the measure of grace you need for each moment.  Look to me to provide and I will.

Your smile and the attitude of your heart communicate messages even when you don’t have words to say. People around you need the message of grace, peace, and hope because they may not know me as you do. Since my peace rests upon you, you can share that peace with them even without saying a word, but simply by being my child and allowing my Spirit to operate through you.

Embrace opportunities for my light to shine through you. It is by kindness and love that you will experience the joy of giving hope and encouragement to others. I will be glorified in your life and others will know me because they see me in you.

Go in my love, walk in my blessing, and see my glory come by your faithfulness.”

a Whisper…a break in the clouds

“When clouds of frustration loom over your head, you must look for the one bright light peeking through, that break in the clouds. That is where you will find me.

There is always a break in the clouds, however sometimes it is not easy to see. There is a time to be patient, to wait, to breathe, and slow your thoughts down. You cannot see clearly when your mind is wrapped up in anxious thoughts because your focus is on your issues, and not on me. It always comes back to choices and what you choose to do.  How you choose to respond will affect the outcome of every situation.

When storm clouds appear and suddenly your emotions become a whirlwind of anxious reactions, choose to be still and remember me. Remember that I am God, that I am with you and my power is sufficient for you. Give your anxious thoughts to me, invite me into the situation and I will be your help. This is my promise to you and I am faithful to my word.  I am faithful to my children – always.”
